I got the job in Pennsylvania! I will be visiting the Lehigh Valley this weekend, and the church, and am planning on moving from Kansas early next month.
Praise the Lord!
Hey, it's 2008

Well, 2007 was busy. In January, I finished up at Intel and moved back to Kansas to complete my last two semesters of college. I met Rachel in March, and it snowed in Maryland when I was on spring break. I knew I loved her before we met, but of course, that was when I first told her...And I've loved her more with each passing day.
The spring semester was rough: databases, algorithms, computer architecture, generic programming (Haskell stuff), and programming languages (writing languages in Scheme). I missed the elusive 4.0 after completely bombing the algorithms final. I did a bit of work on tracts, and gave a few to my pastor. Pastor Hanks said he wanted to print one, but that was the last I heard of that. Saw Rachel again in July, which was wonderful and singy, but way too short because I had to get back to work at a silly local place that I left in August to start working at a better, but even smaller, local place. The fall semester's classes were robotics, operating systems, honors linguistics and honors politics, and were much easier, so I got my first 4.0 since my first semester--woohoo!
I saw my Rachel again in October. :) And then in November... And we got engaged. Yayyyyyy! I'm going to marry my love. :) I was just there for Christmas break, and that was wonderful too, although everybody was getting sick.
We're planning on getting married in April... Hopefully people won't try to stress us out over the planning. I just want to be with her.
I should be hearing back soon regarding a job I interviewed for in Pennsylvania, so I pray that turns out favorably.
Anyway, I can't wait to start a life with just each other in 2008... It's going to be great! :D
Engaged!

Oh, so I went and got engaged. I can't wait to spend every day with the love of my life (Rachel, of course, of course).

I'm alive, I'm alive...

I've just been dead on Xanga. It's easy to spend way too much time on here!
So anyway...

I love my habibi.
I left Maryland a week ago... I miss her a ton. The plan is for her to come here next month and meet my parents. :)
I graduate college in December, Lord willing.
I need to find a job...
I'm working part-time at Heart of America E-Commerce.
Vote for Ron Paul.
I've been reading way too much economics lately.
Rachel Day (er, Sweetest Day) was awesome.

Back to hibernation. :) Hehehe.

Edit: Oh, and I got to street preach a couple times... That was pretty fun! Definitely need to serve the Lord more.
Dealing with lazy police

Sunday, June 10, 2007

Mmmmmmmm so lemon, olive oil, rosemary, garlic, and black pepper make for a really deliiiiiicious marinade! That was the juiciest steak I've ever had... Pretty exciting, considering I'm the guy who's burnt ramen noodles in the microwave (forgot to put the water in), exploded eggs in the microwave (forgot to pierce the yoke), and exploded boiled eggs (forgot them when I was online).
zzzzzzzzz!!!!

I've juuuust emailed my last final project to my professor, and I'm now free! Yes, yes, I know, 4 a.m. Saturday morning...It was "technically" due Friday night, so I emailed an "on time" submission and frantically rushed to get the rest of it working...Got a lot done in four hours, considering I should really be in bed. Took my brain a while to turn on. That class was fairly tricky... Functional programming overload.

Kinnersley is supposedly the hardest teacher in the department...I had an A going into the final, and only needed an 85.5 to keep it...Didn't make it though. :( I think the rest will be A's though. Four hours ago, I was afraid I'd get a 3.4, but now I think I'm getting a 3.8, and if Kinnersley hadn't given that monstrous final...oh well. Considering how confused I was so often this semester, I'll be very happy with a 3.8.

NOW I CAN FINALLY SLEEP!!!!!

Oh...Wait a second...No I can't! My parents are coming tomo...er, today...er, at noon, which, in "Mama speak," probably means eleven...And I have to trick them into thinking I'm not a slob! Operation: clean house....zzzzzz...
Yo vivo!

Yes, I live. Sorry to be so dead... I banned myself from looking at xanga for a while. It can be quite a distraction.
Life's been good...School is tricky, but I have to remember it will be over in December, and then I can start "life."
There's a lot of reading and writing I've been needing to get done...I
get more books and I have yet to read the ones I already have...Just
ordered a 1244-page tome because I had a gift card, and a couple more
because I had another gift card...and got a few from
paperbackswap.com--eek! I can't wait to get around to it all, hopefully
a little this summer...before Rachel's dad repents of having lent me
Bunyan's Holy War. :)

Anywayyyyyy, God is good.

The 34th Psalm:

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
break hasn't even been picked up. Thank you, postman, my first two late
bills. I'd pay those two bills online, but they don't allow it without
some stupid extra fees and hassle. Sigh...not good. On top of that, I
keep getting other people's mail in my box, and I wonder how often it
happens to them with my mail, because I know somebody who lives in the
next building and gets other people's mail all the time, hmm.
Incidentally, she told me never to pay bills online because she got her
identity stolen.

My mailman in California didn't seem to understand the concept of
"picking up mail" either...Had to keep leaving him stickies--I guess
the flag concept was a bit tricky for him...erg.

So, to summarize, never trust the post office...or, apparently, Internet, or...hmm, running out of things to trust.

Ah yes, the Lord Jesus Christ.

He
brought it upon himself... Now I shall pray that my postman repents.
Made sure to put a sticky on the box that says to actually PICK UP the
mail (amazing concept).

Well, that was a rather blargish post, but God is truly good to me.
